We all come to this planet with special seeds God has planted in us; most often we refer to them as “our gifts.” He plants the seeds and yet I believe it’s our job to harvest them. At this juncture, as we continue to explore the idea of Soul Gravity, I must ask you if you truly know your gifts? If so, are you using them? Do your gifts coincide with your career path?

In our Diamond Leadership Club and YOU Mastery trainings my students are challenged to explore and discover what I call their Million Dollar Value. Your MDV is the one gift that you bring to the world that you have a unique talent for and can be executed better than anyone else. It could be your smile, your marketing ability, you make the best cheesecake or you create the most beautiful art from old china. Because my belief is that anything can be monetized, once you discover what your MDV is, I can then help you turn it into a profitable business or, I can incorporate it into your existing business. Why is the piece of self-discovery so important? Because most people have never explored their gifts let alone found a way to profit from them.

Earlier this year my Diamond class and I took the Strength Finders 2.0 test, which was part of an entire book whose core concept revolved around focusing and building upon your strengths rather than spending time developing your weaknesses. This philosophy goes hand in hand with that of my MDV discovery process. Let me use myself as an example here. One of my gifts is that I have a great ability to create warm and inviting spaces for people to leave their worries behind, open up, become vulnerable and share. Once they are open and comfortable they are much easier to teach. I love to hostess and you already know I love anything food related so I always make sure food and great smells are involved along with inspiration music to fit the mood. Because of my warm hostess and gathering abilities, I have created my business around doing just that, gathering women, playing hostess and using my other million dollar value, teaching them about business.

How does this all tie into my Soul Gravity you ask? For the past 17 years, I have used the sacred space of my home as my teaching grounds, where I am surrounded by the sights, sounds and energies of my Soul Gravity. I find I am a much better teacher when I am in an inspiring environment that feeds my Soul. In other words, if my gift is artistry, I must find an inspiring studio to paint in and for me, that studio is my home. That is why most of my businesses are online business and all of which can be run from home. This is how I use my gifts while running a prosperous business and enjoying the flow of my Soul Gravity.

Now back to you. Take out that new journal that I asked you to purchase in my last post and make a list of all of the gifts you bring to the world. Then narrow the list down to the top five and number them one through five (one being what you do best) and from there you will find your Million Dollar Value. Then, take some time and review your business and how it flows with your Soul Gravity. Do you like what you see?

If not, it’s time for a planning session to figure out how you can create more fluidity between your Soul your gifts and your business. You have heard the saying, “if you follow your bliss you will never have to work a day in your life.” I believe in this very moment in time, with the God given talents that you already posses, you are only steps away from the greatest prosperity you have ever known! Do you believe me?

Here’s to following your bliss and building a business based the true gifts and desires that reside deep in your Soul. See you at the Soul Gravity Gathering on May 4th! Until then, keep owning your world!

Love,

Kellie

As we prepare to embark on yet another spring, I am quite sure your Soul is beginning to long for the sights, smells, sounds and feelings that the new season brings with it. Up until now, you may not have thought about these things as being the essence of your Soul Gravity, but I invite you to begin looking at those gravitational pulls differently, starting today.

Soul Gravity pulls us in the direction of people, places and things that we are drawn to energetically. It is part of the very fibers of our being that enable us to experience true bliss. I believe our souls came here partially knowing what they were drawn to and the other parts revealed themselves and were shaped as we moved through our journey of life.

I am sure you have heard the quote, “we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, but rather, spiritual beings having a human experience.” I believe that. I know “spirit” has many different meanings to different people but to me, spirit and soul are synonymous with one another. Spirit to me is the intuition that guides you in your life. It’s that peaceful place within you that you rely on to keep you balanced and heart centered. It’s the naked pieces of you. It’s the voice that guides you. I look at the Soul as part of the spirit but to me, the Soul is much deeper. It contains the DNA of many lives and souls that came before us. It contains the genetic coding of our Soul Gravity. It is the key that can unlock many doors providing we don’t ignore it. Herein lies the issue and the reason for my new mission.

Many have not visited their Souls in a long time, if ever. I believe spirituality is one way to tap into the Soul and I think it’s something that has to be continually worked on, but there are also other ways. Starting with knowing your Soul Gravity.

All along, you have known you have Soul Gravity however, you probably didn’t know what to call it and perhaps you didn’t know how to categorize it. That’s OK, neither did I. But it’s my mission now to teach you how to tap into your personal and professional Soul Gravity and help you combine them together into an ever flowing infinity ring.

Over the course of the next few months I will be sharing with you different exercises to unveil your inner Soul and truly get in touch with your Soul Gravity. Then I will show you how to prosper in ways that you probably never imagined were possible when you learn to use your Soul Gravity to create an ebb and flow between your soul’s desires and your personal and professional endeavors.

Now back to the seasons. Back in New Jersey as a young woman, I would get so excited at the turn of each season because it always represented renewal to me, sort of a re-birthing of spirit. At the start of autumn I would enjoy taking the screens off the big glass windows that overlooked the river and placing pumpkin decals everywhere. I loved the smells of apple and pumpkin spice in the air and the view of the leaves on the ground. I enjoyed the warmth of the candles in the windows that created sparkles of light throughout my home, as they were symbolic of the dark nights ahead and the pending wintery cold months to come. I loved baking and entertaining during those months as they represented family and connecting time over great meals and crackling fires. Then as spring approached I couldn’t wait to put all of those thoughts, feelings and traditions away as I prepared for the sunlight, flowers and the beach and I would do this all year long as the seasons changed. I would be willing to bet you do also.

Since moving to Florida, I miss those Soul Gravitating feelings that the seasons brought. Somehow it just isn’t the same feeling at Christmas when the inside of your home is adorned with beautiful Christmas delight and outside the doors the temperature is 90 degrees! So in the 11 years that I have lived here, I have learned to feed my Soul Gravity differently but without compromising the very things that made it what it is today.

So today, I ask you to begin the Soul Gravity process with me as I set out to show you how you too can live a life of bliss and prosperity without compromising a single piece of who you are at the very core.

I want you to start by buying yourself a new journal. Not one that you have had sitting around, a journal dedicated specifically to your personal Soul Gravity. Then I want you to write an entry beginning with the words, “When I am in complete bliss, my Soul gravitates towards… “ I want you to list the people, places, things, sounds, smells and all of the feelings that go into you reaching that true sense of bliss. Next, I want you to commit to the next part of the journey, which is joining me on May 4th at the Holiday Inn in Highland Beach Florida where we will take this process much deeper. Lastly, I would love to hear your comments on my blog as you journey through this process.

My wish for you is that you love yourself so completely that you give yourself this gift of knowing. As you shed light on your own Soul Gravity you create the space for it to energetically travel and inspire others to do the same. Imagine a world where there is a Soul Gravity ripple effect; imagine the vibrational levels surrounding you and us when we all embrace US as a whole. It’s time to stop playing small. You deserve to live powerfully and soulfully and I am committed to helping you get there.

For several years in my early twenties, I was on an upward path of moving swiftly up the corporate ladder. I held a variety of positions as a manager of Credit and Collections departments and my last position was a prestigious one working for an Inc. 500 company. I was 24, I had power, I had the beautiful mahogany office in the corner, stock options and I could come and go as I pleased. I spent much of my time in Philadelphia, as I was responsible for collecting millions in bad debt owed by the large hospitals systems there. I will never forget coming home at night, ripping off my stockings, taking off my suit and letting my hair down. Many a night we would light the fireplace and I would curl up with my favorite magazine after rushing to get dinner on the table. I was young and knew what I wanted out of life. At least I thought I did.

We lived in a gorgeous old Victorian home adorned with all of the antiques and pink treasures that made my heart sing. My boyfriend at the time and I did well financially and we vacationed often visiting bed and breakfasts all across the US. After our relationship started to go south, we decided to jointly venture into a network marketing business in an effort to bridge some commonality in our relationship. He was 14 years older than me and we had very little in common outside of our love for antiques and Victorian homes. So at the age of 24 I left my fabulous corporate job to pursue my MLM full time. Together we broke all kinds of company records and made hundreds of thousands of dollars in our first few years. It seemed like I had finally found my calling. It was here that I would get over my fear of speaking, learn incredible business skills and best of all, I would go on to learn some of the most valuable leadership and personal development skills of my entire career.

We adapted to working around the clock and on weekends and that somehow became the new normal. Neither of us had children yet and our time was our own. We lived on a gorgeous river and bought a jet ski for recreation, but it never made it into the water one time. Our lives were no longer ours. While we were well on our way to making millions, something all of the sudden was missing. Gone were the bed and breakfast trips. Gone was the time by the fireplace and most importantly, I lost all concept of what “me” time was.

After four years of working our tails off, we drifted apart. We split up and I moved to Florida signing over all rights to that business in an effort to start over. We actually broke up over the phone while I was down in Boca Raton on a trip for our business. All I asked of him was to pack up all of my pink treasures and belongings and put them in storage and I would be back to get them. He packed most of them and I entrusted a friend to bring them all down on a uHaul. Well the friend came down with the uHaul but it was empty. He sold all of my precious belongings along the way and I never saw him again. I literally came here with nothing. Needless to say I was devastated.

I will skip ahead a few years now where I am now married with my first baby and in a new home, the home where I live now. I struggled for those few years frantically searching the web and ebay in an effort to replace all that I had lost. I was so attached to my material possessions and couldn’t get over the loss of them. I guess you could say I mourned to have that part of my life back. My soul was in those items, at least it felt so at the time.

While I have learned many lessons from that experience, I am much older and wiser today, in fact it’s been 11 years since that happened and life is much different now. My house is filled with treasures although they comfort my soul, they don’t have the same meaning to me as they did before. I love being surrounded by them, my home is warm because of them and the loving energy here, but I am not attached to those things in an outwardly way as I was in the past. Why? Because after years of therapy and coaching, I have learned that true love comes from within and not from outwardly people, places or things. With that said, my business today is very different than in the past as is the time I spend in it. I work only to feed my soul and for the purpose primarily of creating more time for all the important things that matter most in my life. I almost never work weekends and night now but quite honestly, my working style is such that I don’t feel as though I am working. Why? Because my Soul Gravity is sprinkled everywhere and in everything I do.

I have learned that your Soul Gravity must be congruent with your business in order to live in total bliss. My work is a reflection of those very things that my Soul Gravitates towards and they are weaved all throughout my companies. My environment allows me the ability each day to be as creative as I want to be. I surround my self with the people I love and adore, the precious Victorian and pink treasures that make my heart sing and the beautiful smell of a home cooked meal most days, all while I am working doing what I love. My business and life are congruent, there is no line in between and it is that way because I designed it that way – and you can also. Why spend your entire life working for someone else who controls the purse strings and most importantly, your work environment? Why spend all day in a place that does not meet you at the vibration of your Soul Gravity? I am living proof that despite the most horrific circumstances, you can have it all – and, you can design it just the way you dreamed it could be. See, I believe money is everywhere and we get to have as much of it as we choose. However, in order for it to flow and grow, I must ensure that my Soul Gravity congruent with my business so that I can keep my mind in a creative and peaceful place if I desire more and more of it to come. It’s when we draw a line between our business and our life and we become two different people, we compromise the true bliss we were put on this earth to enjoy.

So today I challenge you to take the Soul Gravity test. Create a visual like the one I did here and truly identify where your Soul Gravity pulls you. Then, take the next step of figuring out how to incorporate these things more into your life and business. Life is too short not to be totally in love with all that you do each and every day. If you need help with figuring out your Soul Gravity, you will want to consider joining me and my team on May 4th for our first ever Soul Gravity Gathering in Highland Beach, Florida. Until then, I would love to know your ideas for incorporating YOUR Soul Gravity into ALL areas of your life.

“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you”

See you at the Soul Gravity Getaway on May 4th!

My wonderful husband took the liberty to make all of the arrangements for us to stay at a 5 star resort in Miami to get away for the weekend, relax, enjoy each other and of course, indulge in our favorite past time, FOOD! Our souls are so intertwined that we both know when we are in desperate need of “together” time, and this most certainly was one of those times. So we packed our bags, headed out on our 3-day getaway adventure ready to enjoy the complete bliss of it all.

We arrived at our resort at about 1pm on the first day and were met by a very gracious and professional staff who so eloquently knew (and recited) our names wherever we went. We took the afternoon to sit by the pool in an effort to begin our decompression. After some down time and a quick burger, we headed indoors to change and get ready for (what we were told) the best afternoon divergence, Happy Hour in the main hall. After arriving to the hall, we were greeted by staff informing us that the happy hour had been cancelled due to the weather. See, there was a huge wedding to take place and it had started to rain outside so the cocktail hour now needed to be moved indoors. So without much left to do, we headed back to our room for several hours of solitude before going back down for our 7pm dinner reservation.

Part of what makes traveling special for us is meeting new people. Cliff and I love visiting quaint places that are fun, friendly and evoke conversation among guests. It was very clear this was not one of those places. In fact, at dinner, we were the youngest in the bunch, among herds of couples in between their 70s and 80s (even a chance spotting of Ben Stiller’s dad over in one of the corners!)

The dinner menu was quite eclectic and being the foodies that we are, this was to be the highlight of our day! With a modern array of entrees that didn’t suit our appetites, we opted for the four-course option. Never would I have imagined that each course would taste worse than the last. Now it’s about 8:30pm and we are on our final course, cheesecake. My appetite was gone, my enthusiasm had faded and all I could think about was how quickly I could get back to my room, bury my head in the pillow and call it a night. And that we did. Lights were out by 9pm as we both chose to forgive, forget and leave the day behind us.

The next morning I awoke to the brisk wind and sounds of the ocean. My spirit was refreshed and renewed. I knew this day was going be much better than the last. After all, I had full control over how I reacted to my circumstances and what I would make of this day. We headed down for our couples massage mid morning and after enjoying an amazing two hours of serendipitous treatments, we voyaged over to the relaxation room where I was then able to share with Cliff the epiphany I had while on the massage table. It was called Soul Gravity.

I get chills saying those words, Soul Gravity. In the sacred moments between feeling my body and mind relaxing and the voice of God appearing, the lessons came to me. One, that I wasn’t being grateful. I asked for forgiveness. Two that the reason why I was so unhappy in the environment I was in was because it is not where my Soul Gravity wanted to pull me.

See, when Cliff and I had first decided to retreat for the weekend, we both felt the need to visit a new bed and breakfast and spend our days antiquing which truly are some of our favorite things to do when we travel. But for me, this is more than just a favorite hobby. My entire life I have been drawn to, pulled in the direction of, all things old and nostalgic. Almost like my soul gravitated towards these things and places that held them. Could it be that I was reincarnated from the Victorian era? It was only after I would leave home as a young adult and get into a horrible seven year relationship in my twenties, that I would realize this sort of, what I now know as “Soul Gravity” taking place. Like my soul wouldn’t fully rest at ease until I was in an old home, by a fireplace, surrounded by old pictures, pink treasures, great people and of course the aroma of freshly baked goodies in the oven while the classical music played in the background.

So amidst the disappointment of my first night at the resort and the pleasure filled morning that followed, I realized that there really is something that pulls us in a direction of what our soul longs for and it’s called Soul Gravity.

While sitting in the relaxation room with Cliff, I shared with him what I had heard, felt and discovered about Soul Gravity, he agreed. Knowing me, he agreed that my soul was pulling me the day prior. So I asked him, where do you feel your Soul Gravity pulls you and without hesitation he answered. He said he is drawn to Asian things (I knew this) and spiritual music, Buddha’s and Asian food and in this moment I knew we were on to something. We ALL have a Soul Gravity. Some of us are blessed that our Soul Gravity is interwoven all throughout our lives and businesses. I know mine is. My house is built like a bed and breakfast and I am surrounded by old treasures from ancestors before me and there are always scrumptious smelling aromas filling each room. In my business I have made a living of gathering those special people that I so desire to share life stories and recipes with. I am fascinated by these things.

So now – the question reverts to you. Are you being pulled to your Soul Gravity? Or have you structured your life and career around the very things that make your soul sing. This new day held many lessons for me. I now realize that both Cliff and I need to be surrounded by the things that are true to our Soul Gravity everywhere we go, and in everything we do. He also needs a place in our home where he feels creative, comfortable and in the midst of the treasures and sounds that give him soul centered bliss and so do you.

I hope this story has served you well and I pray that you meditate on where your Soul Gravity pulls you. Don’t wait for a vacation once or twice a year to bring you to that special place in your heart. You can enjoy this feeling every day, I know I will.

As you can imagine, very few business owners have truly taken the time to carve out a very specific niche, so that most often, is the first step we take. You cannot hold the top position in a niche if you have not first identified a niche. Once we have established your niche, we can get a clearer picture who your target market will be. There are specific sets of strategies that I use in building my client’s “top of mind ladder” and typically at the beginning of the ladder, they are fairly new in business. When they are new in business, I recommend building a strong community presence however, once that is accomplished and they have made it up the ladder, the opposite must take place. This level of business owners are my target market, people who have made it the to middle of the ladder and need help getting to the top. Let’s look at this a little further:

1. Supply and Demand – You know the rules of supply and demand, the less available something is, the more in demand it becomes. Yes, you remember the Cabbage Patch Kids, we all do. If you (the entrepreneur) are always available for lunch, coffee, pick your brain sessions and at every community networking event or function, your brand will not have as high a perceived value. Most people that frequent networking events often are searching for new business and are on the road to reaching top of mind status. There is nothing wrong with that however again, one must have enough foresight to know when to put the breaks on. When a brand reaches top of mind status, “searching” for new business is not required much if at all as you have now become the first and best known choice in your particular niche. In other words, business finds you, you don’t need to find it.

2. Price and Value – If you are reading this blog, I trust that you are a wise follower who already understands the difference between price and value but here is the skinny – my skinny! Price is a transactional fee that you get paid for the work you do. Value is just that, the amount of value you provide your clients. When clients place a very high value on your work, price becomes less and less important. Those of you that are Apple users know what I mean. We place such a high value on Apple products that we will pay whatever price they ask us to AND they never discount. This is a very important strategy as you make it up the rungs on the ladder. Also remember, the higher the price of something, the higher its perceived value becomes. The more experience you gain and the more clients you help, the more testimonials and buzz you will accumulate – ultimately enabling you to double and triple your prices. Please note though, you can’t all of the sudden just raise your prices on a whim – it must be carefully thought out in your overall marketing and branding strategy and you must be ready to elevate to a new leadership level with your existing posse while still rewarding them as loyal followers as you add new members into the mix. Everyone wants to follow a great leader and trust me; your true members will celebrate your elevation and growth!

3. Unsocial is the New Social – There comes a point and time in your business/brand where you must spread your wings and reach far beyond your local radius. This was a place I came to about three years ago when I completely stepped out of the local social scene. I was committed to take my brand and business global and I knew I couldn’t accomplish that by spending lots of time attending local functions. Nor could I accomplish this by spending time in areas where my target market didn’t frequent. This was about the same time I set up my Facebook account. Although I wasn’t partaking in the social scene locally, I was virtually and my presence was becoming known throughout the world. Opportunities also began presenting themselves like never before. As a result, my influence has grown tenfold, my income has increased exponentially and my brand now ranks among the top in the industry. There is a new term called “social clout” and now there are websites that measure the amount of social clout you have. I highly recommend the site www.Klout.com to get your ranking based on a scale of 1-100. Currently I am ranking at around 67-70, which I am told is highly influential. My years of hard work have paid off.

There is so much to share on this topic but I will save it for a future audio download. I am committed to teaching these principles as often as I can so stay tuned for more. For now, I highly recommend that you snag yourself a copy of my free ebook “Building a Bankable Brand” on my website. In addition, take a strong look at your business, where it is and where you want it to be in the next three years. Decide in advance what your strategies will be to work your way up the ladder and pick the time NOW when you will begin to transition into the steps I have outlined here. I wish you the best in your journey and keep OWING YOUR WORLD!

According to a study conducted by the CDC, suicide rates increase as the economy declines. Event Organizer Kellie Kuecha explains, “I had four friends commit suicide in the last year because they felt they had no better way out of the overwhelming despair that surrounds us.” Kuecha plans a remembrance ceremony for those who have decided to take their own lives. “A few days after my fourth friend passed, I was awakened in the middle of the night by a message from God telling me to host an event specifically for women in the beginning of January. The message called for me to share my business knowledge and recruit others to share theirs for free, in order to help give women hope and belief in their ability to succeed and prosper in ways they never imagined,” says Kuecha.

This first free community event offers keynotes by locally, nationally, and internationally famed speakers & experts Kuecha, Christina Rowe, Lisa Paolo, Barbara Theodosiou, Susan Somerset Webb, and Staci Garcia. The event also features a VIP Lunch & Learn, as well as a Mega MastHERmind with roundtable leaders such as WE tv show host Suzanne Kovi, Kimberly West, Jill Duggan, Nanette Saylor, Heather Lopez and many more! Attendees will be able to choose a MastHERmind from a wide array of topics such as marketing, health & fitness, social media, and financial management.

It is no secret that I love playing Blackjack. There are a variety of reasons that the game fascinates me and I like to either play on my phone app the majority of the time but every now and again I will head over to the casino for a long night of playing! You see, I grew up near Atlantic City, New Jersey and at the age of 19, I was entered into a pageant for the United Way by my then employer Lenox China. The pageant and all of our practices took place at each of the various casinos and I must say, it was love at first sight the moment I walked through those doors! The lights, the sounds, the excitement, the people – it all just swept me away. Although I loved staying at the casinos, eating there often, attending concerts etc., It wouldn’t be until several years later that I would be asked to speak in Vegas that I began to get my Blackjack game on! Since then, I have been hooked. Not hooked on gambling but hooked on the overall experience and lessons learned. Here are all of the lessons I have learned and I am much wiser as a result of them!

Be prepared to stay in it for the long haul – There is no such thing as getting rich quick or striking the jackpot in Blackjack. The game takes time and strategic betting to get ahead. You can’t plop down $50 and expect to do much with it. Nor can you only give it 30 minutes to see what happens. Tables have losing streaks and winning streaks but you have to be willing to ride the bad times to get to the good times!

People will come and go, but it’s OK – Most of my life it seemed everyone I got attached to eventually went away so I developed a fear of abandonment which spilled over into many areas of my life. I have met some great people over the years at the table and some are there for a reason, some are there for a short season, some have stayed for a lifetime. Either way, they have all served their purpose and it’s OK!

The greater the risk, the greater the reward – As with anything, whether you bet $5 or $50, the game doesn’t change. All too often people fear betting high because they will lose more but they fail to remember that they will also gain more!

Choose your partners wisely, the better the dealer, the better the game - A good game is played when you feel aligned with the dealer. If you are going to sit there for hours, you might as well make sure that you enjoy your partner. Stand back and watch a while before jumping in head first. Not all dealers are personable or helpful. Bad partnerships can alter your attitude, therefore altering the game.

Teamwork makes the dream work – Some come to the table without any knowhow on how to play the game. A good dealer will help the uneducated players make wise choices however the game is best played as a team. When the entire table comes together as a unified front and helps each other, the odds of winning are greater!

Don’t look behind, only ahead – While it’s never fun losing, you have to set the intention going into the game that it’s just that, a game. Spend money that you can afford to lose and have a good time. When the game is over, chalk it up a fun experience and move on.

Take your winnings and reinvest – As I said earlier, strategic betting insures longevity in the game but also I find, increases your chances of winning. As soon as you win a hand, you must re-invest the winnings into the next hand otherwise you will never get ahead.

If it’s not fun, don’t do it – I often play with very miserable people and sometimes it seems you can’t escape them. For goodness sakes, life is meant to be fun and if it’s not, don’t do it!

When the big wave comes, be ready to ride it – There are rare times throughout the game where you will get a chance to double down, split cards one or more times and add lots more money to your original bet. This is where the money is made with the game however of you are not willing to seize those opportunities, you will very seldom find yourself in the winning side at the end of the day.

It’s important to set your rules and stick to them – Every game must be set with a strategic plan in advance and you MUST stick to it! So often people play, lose and then reach into their pocket for more money. Big mistake. They have no plan. She with the best plan gets the best results!

Don’t let peer pressure get the best of you – The odds of you playing with amateur players at the low cost tables are much greater so I avoid those tables. I like to sharpen my saw with the big guys but I have a standard rule of not taking a card if my cards total 16. (You are trying to beat the dealer’s 17) Other players want you to hit on 16 and sometimes will scream and yell if you don’t – but my rule is my rule and when I get my first 16 I let the dealer and table know I won’t be hitting on 16s.

The seat you choose has in impact on the outcome – I have always been a front seat girl so I like the seat front and center so that I can see the entire table, watch the dealers body language and get his attention when I need it. However, the last chair to the left is known as the captain’s chair and you would think I would want that chair but I don’t. The captain’s chair first and foremost is squeezed into a corner and sees the table from an entirely different perspective. The person in that chair has an important responsibility; he gets to make the final card choice, which will determine whether or not the deal wins or busts. So pretty much they are running the ship. This is one time when I will forgo being in control and leave it up to someone else but rest assured, it won’t go down without my adding my two cents when need be, which brings me to my next point.

Speak up when you feel the need to – As stated in points 5 and 11, it takes a team to carry off a successful win and with that being said, you must learn to speak up if you expect to win the game. Your ability to speak up and influence the others will have a direct impact on the success of your game.

Don’t drink or smoke obsessively – Having played now for many years, you can imagine that I have run into a lot of drunk players in my time. I play to win and I can’t imagine being able to make sound choices with an impaired mind. Also being in such close proximity, you are inevitably invading each other’s personal space. Lighting up and blowing smoke around the table just isn’t cool. The likelihood of winning over your team is slim if you are doing things to annoy them!

Know when to walk away – As I stated earlier, you must be willing to stay in for the long haul as I have seen losing streaks go on as long as 5 hours. The other night, I kept waiting for my table to turn over but it never did so I walked away and found another table, I won the first 5 hands at the table. Know when to walk away but also know when you start at a new table, you are starting all over again and you must be prepared to ride it out!

It takes money to make money – For the players that are looking to come in a make a quick couple of hundred or thousand, they must understand that they need to stay away from the small chips and bet only with the large ones. So often I see people slap down forty dollars and expect to do well. Forty dollars will not keep you in for the long haul. It takes money to make money AMEN!

Paying it forward always pays you back – Sitting at a Blackjack table is no different than sitting at a restaurant table, the dealers get paid on tips and I LOVE to tip! I have found more often then not that when I pay it forward by adding a tip to my bet, I almost always win. Law of attraction at its best!

Sometimes the cards you are dealt aren’t the best but you learn to make the best of what you have – At the end of the day, not every hand is going to be a good one so I make the best of it. I make new friends by getting to know the dealer, I ask the other players about their life and most of all, I have fun.

All and all, I love the art of the game and all that goes with it – good and bad. Now if all of these points listed could be combined at the same table at the exact same time, that would make for a great game but in the end, I realize only God knows the outcome and I can’t get attached to it. I know in my heart that expectations create disappointment so I go into the game with my intention, my core values and beliefs intact and I play like it depends on me but pray like it depends on God. I enjoy the fun of the game and the people I meet so the winning is an added bonus! I have also eaten the best meals, attended the best concerts and enjoyed a lot of great perks as a result of playing and those are also icing on the cake! All and all, it’s a fun and relaxing way to spend my time when I choose to! Blackjack!
